Black Music Month

Black music is the blueprint.

My first month at Twitter, I launched the first-ever hashmoji for Black Music Month. This year we took it up a few notches by creating a full editorial campaign tapping into every aspect of the celebration. My goal was to educate the @TwitterMusic audience about Black people being the nucleus of every music genre known to man and prove that Black culture is the blueprint.


The 2022 launch included a hashmoji launch with two more hashtags (#BlackMusicMonth, #BlackMusic, #BMM), custom header, and RTs from average Tweeters talking about Black music. As the month went on, we partnered up with Black artists who shared Voice Tweets about the evolution of Black music. Lastly, we wrapped up the month with data showing the conversation volume of Black music.
